It was bound to happen sooner or later, let's be honest I haven't been updating since I finished my 365 in 2013. If you haven't been updated with my recent style, it's totally revamped compared to what I was doing 6 years ago on deviantART, it's bound to be a fresh new look and I have more exciting stuff in the works - more fashion, beauty, concepts, and shoots...! I would really really appreciate the support Heart

I'm moving over to Facebook for more social and interactive purposes. Head over to give it a like! (or just a peek) www.facebook.com/daphnengphoto

Upon completing my 365 day project in 2013, I had plans to create another year lapse project, something to keep me on my toes everyday. The 365 seconds project caught my eye and I’ve been taking clips everyday through the whole 2014. Most of it was spent in Melbourne, a(n almost) full year away from Malaysia, some days were static, slow, and uneventful, some days were exciting, happening, full of surprises, some days had so many cool stuff happening I couldn’t just settle for one clip.

This has been said often enough, but 2014 has been a pretty rich year for me.

In 2014 I turned 21 three times, celebrated Chinese New Year Eve at a 7-Eleven in Taiwan, suffocated from pink powder, had my first art exhibition, joined MUMSU as a committee member, started to understand the concept of Friday Nights, spent close to a month backpacking in New Zealand, dove off a ledge 400m above Queenstown with only a harness tied around my waist, experienced falling snow for the first time, took up a photography elective, seen two musicals, worked on at least two photography collaborations, accepted that 'I’ve changed', made strangers into friends, friends into housemates, and housemates into friends. My year wasn’t all sunshine and cheer though, there were definitely life changing down days. I try to include more visual clips of how I mostly felt on a bad day, I can remember what happened when which clip was taken, but the viewer probably can’t tell.

It’s impossible to summarise a year into a passage or a video, surely, I get the chills and can’t help sporting a stupid grin on my face as I play the video again and again, but here is 6 minutes of my 2014

PS: Full screen or anything large than this thumbnail size is best!
PPS: On that note, I'm starting another year length (52 week) project, so I'll probably be more active on dA now.

It's going to be at the Melbourne Pavilion on 28th March, a RAWartists showcase yo and I am still keeling and being panicky over my first showcase where I have to be there in person! (I wasn't required to be at CropUp Gallery last year because, well, I can't fly to UK for an exhibition).

Gonna keep it as(short)ap - I don't have to pay for anything to showcase my work BUT I have to sell 20 tickets, each of them $15 each. If any of you would like a cocktail night of looking at art, some live performances and music, fashion designers with their models strutting down the runway, or even drop by to say hi to me :aww: maybe consider buying a ticket from me? DIS IS THE LINK www.rawartists.org/melbourne/m… IT'LL MEAN SO MUCH TO ME THANK

Also it's on my birthday it'll be my birthday present

I'm so excited im gonna puke

That’s it. I finished my 365. I should explain that I cheated with my last day because I didn’t have enough time to take a picture on 31/12/2013, we had a barbecue thing going on and I was stressed enough as it is, I didn’t want to end my 365 with a hastily snapped photo of the fire light or chicks. I wanted to sit down, doodle out a concept, and put it in motion, and spend 1 hour+ trying to get a right picture and spend time on photoshop putting it together. I wanted to put effort and feel good about what I spend hours doing. Exactly a year ago, I started the project on New Years Eve, technically New Years Day because the clock striked 12, thinking I could handle a small commitment – a photo a day, how hard can that be? – hah-HAH-HAH. Yesterday, the 31st of December, marks the 365th photo of my daily photo year project. If you didn’t think I was going to make a blogpost trying to justify the whole project you’re wrong, this is obligatory. [READ MORE]

A note on 365s

1 min read
As you can probably tell / see, I'm definitely deviating from my usual concept style of 365s, and have been posting them less punctually now. That doesn't mean I'm slacking (in the snapping a pic per day), I definitely still take a picture a day, always, even if I have to force myself to.

Melbourne is a lovely place, new environment, new views, but the main problem is me being less daring to take pictures outside (??) I still feel like a stranger to my environment. I desperately WANT to get into my daily conceptual 365 groove again but alas. gaawd. argh. complain journal.

So if you were one of the watchers who watched for my conceptual work, sorry to disappoint you, you most likely won't be seeing any soon. I have to worry more about getting groceries and food and paying rent / bills these days, by the time I get back to my halls from lectures I don't have the energy to do anything else ahh pffth.

Might as well get some tips from you guys: what do you do to stay constantly motivated?
