Materials: 2H, HB, 2B, 6B, 8B, 0.5 mechanical, putty eraser, tissue.

A portrait for (and of) the inspirational Val, here's the original
photo. Awesome tutorial for graphite portraits here.
I don't particularly think I did Val enough justice, I just can't seem to capture emotion through lead :/ I do like how it turned out though, considering this is my first real try at graphite drawings. It was quite easy to start with, it's just the hair that ate up a lot of time. That glorious magnificent crown of hair
I've always wanted to draw her portraits 
Yet again, I still consider myself new to traditional art, so any tips or tricks, I'd be grateful
And thank you for looking.
*Seems like my drawings are getting more favs than my photos. Is it something I should be happy about?
